I began dancing at the age of 3 with Ruth Foster
who lived a walking distance away, beginning with tap and ballet. I practiced R.A.D Ballet technique doing exams every
year, achieving honors and high honours.
At the age of 12, I auditioned here in
Saint John for the Toronto National Ballet School, for which I was chosen. I attended a 6 week summer course on
campus in Toronto, with no communication with my parents. This was a once in a lifetime experience for me, which
I will never forget. I was asked to stay and train to become a choreographer, for which I declined, as I was young and
not prepared to move away from home.
At the age of 14, I began dancing at Eileen
McGrath's School of Dance where I was introduced to Jazz. I taught there at the age of 15, opening each one of their
new locations. We trained Al Gilberts Syllobus doing exams in Jazz and Tap. I also travelled to New York and Boston
to attend many workshops and technique classes.
In 1994, I opened my own dance school with 19
students dancing at a church hall. Look at us now! A studio of my own with over 100 students and a family oriented
school. Loving every minute of it!

I have been dancing in the Adult Dance class at Kim's Academy of Dance
for ten years. I began Irish dancing under the direction of Eileen Smith for three years. I took lessons in Irish
Dance for three years at Celtic Flare, a dance school in St. Andrews. I am proud to say that I have been teaching Irish
Dance at Kim's Academy of Dance for nine years, and I hope that I will continue for many years to come.
